Draw or type a signature to see it here.
Everything here happens inside your browser. Your file is never uploaded, never sent to Accordsign, and never leaves this device.
Three steps, about a minute.
- Step 1
Pick draw or type
Draw with a mouse, trackpad, stylus or finger, or type your name and choose a handwriting style.
- Step 2
Adjust it
Redraw as many times as you like. Nothing is saved between attempts, so there is no wrong version to undo.
- Step 3
Download the PNG
The file is trimmed to the ink and saved with a transparent background, so it drops onto a document without a white box around it.
Worth being clear about
An image of a signature is an image.
This tool gives you a picture. A picture is fine for a letter, an invoice, or a form somebody asked you to fill in and send back. It is not, by itself, evidence that you signed anything.
What makes an electronic signature defensible is the record around it — which document, which version, who applied the signature, when, and from what address. That is what an audit trail is for, and it is the part a PNG cannot do. If the document matters, send it for signature properly.
Questions.
- Is the background actually transparent?
- Yes. The PNG is saved with an alpha channel and cropped to the ink, so pasting it over a document or a coloured header shows no white rectangle. If you open it in an image viewer that shows transparency as white, it can look opaque — place it on a document to check.
- Does an image of my signature make a document legally binding?
- On its own, no. A picture of a signature is just a picture. What gives an electronic signature weight is the evidence around it: who applied it, to which version of the document, when, and from where. That record is what a signing platform produces and what an image file cannot.
- Where does my signature get stored?
- Nowhere. The drawing exists in the page while the tab is open and is gone when you close it. Nothing is uploaded, and the downloaded PNG is written straight to your device by your browser.
- Can I use this signature in Word, Google Docs, or a PDF?
- Yes. A transparent PNG can be inserted as an image in any of them. If the document you need to sign is a PDF, our free PDF signing tool will place it for you and save the signed file.
